The Legacy of George W. Bush

Among many other things, he has made headlines like this possible. What have we become?

Chazzbot Is Three!

For god's sake, KILL HIM NOW! Help restore balance to the web.
UPDATE: Not to ruin a good gag, but, after looking over some previous entries and, er, the archive bar on the side of the screen, I realized that Chazzbot is actually only two years old. You will have to decide whether it's easier to kill a two-year-old or the adult monster he will become. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Still a pretty good gag, I think, even if the version of Anakin pictured above must be, what? At least ten years old?

Chazzbot's Top 10 Most Played

4. Christina Aguilera--"Ain't No Other Man"
(I imagine the video while listening. Mmm.)
5. Hard-Fi--"Stars of CCTV"
6. Hoagy Carmichael--"Stardust"

9. Scissor Sisters--"I Don't Feel Like Dancin' "
10. Stillwater--"Fever Dog"

Jeff Stahler, The Columbus Dispatch
And, yes, I understand the irony of posting this on my blog after my last entry. I contradict myself. I am large. I contain multitudes.

Who Needs the Kwik-E-Mart?

The storefront. Henderson, Nevada. July 21, 2007
The store was full of cute touches like this, inside and out.
Dina and Marge

Comic-book guys. This may become my new profile icon.

Picked up two cases of Buzz Cola, Squishees, and a few copies of the Radioactive Man comic. Obtained a few boxes of Krustee-O's cereal on a prior visit. A great exercise in consumerism: basically, I bought this stuff just for the labeling.

The counter workers were decked out in Apu-style outfits. There was actually a guy at the counter of Indian heritage--he didn't seem too pleased with the Saturday afternoon crowd.

I'm aware that I am a total tool for shit like this. Still, I found myself rather delighted by the whole idea. I wasn't the only one either. While there, saw a lot of people pulling up just to snap pictures and then driving away again. It became a tourist stop!

It made for an amusing half-hour. Though I may rage against the capitalist machine at times, it's nice to see some creativity in these marketing promos.
